This course is aimed at individuals who wish to pursue a career in the health and fitness industry as a Gym Instructor. This qualification must be completed before the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification can be gained.

Successful completion of this course will allow you to enter REPs as a Level 2 Instructor. Our qualifications are all certified by CYQ, Central YMCA Qualifications, who are the leading awarding body across Europe.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course although you must have a keen interest in exercising and keeping fit

Our direct debit plan allows you to spread the cost of the course over an agreed period of time, with payment coming out automatically each month. All you need to do is make your first payment and we will confirm your enrolment onto the course and you can begin studying. You will receive your certificates once you have completed the course, even if you still have agreed payments to be made so that you can begin working straight away. You will not pay any extra charges or fees if you decide to use our direct debit system.

After enrolling onto the course, you will be sent your pre-course reading pack. This pack contains manuals which you can read through leading up to the start of the course.
The course runs from Monday through to Friday, starting at 10am each day. You will be required to attend all 5 training days before you can complete your assessment day. These training days will re-cap on the pre-course reading material you receive after enrolment and will focus heavily on the practical elements of the course. Each day will combine theory and practical elements and throughout the 5 days you will receive valuable feedback to prepare you for your assessment.
We maintain a very low student to tutor ratio to ensure that you receive as much individual feedback and support as you need to take on board all of the new information and skills we introduce to you.
At the end of the week, you will be booked onto your assessment day and have a minimum of 7 days to prepare before your final assessment. You will automatically be allocated to an assessment day on a Saturday the week after your course ends. You can postpone your assessment if you feel like you need more time to prepare. If you are in a rush to complete your assessment, we can also arrange for you to complete this process sooner.

These training days will re-cap on the pre-course reading material you receive after enrolment and will focus heavily on the practical elements of the course. Each day will combine theory and practical elements and throughout the 4 days you will receive valuable feedback to prepare you for your assessment. You will also be required to complete some paperwork between the two training weekends.
We maintain a very low student to tutor ratio to ensure that you receive as much individual feedback and support as you need to take on board all of the new information and skills we introduce to you.
At the end of the two weekends, you will be booked onto your assessment day and have a minimum of 7 days to prepare before your final assessment. You will automatically be allocated to an assessment day on a Saturday the weekend after your course ends. You can postpone your assessment if you feel like you need more time to prepare. If you are in a rush to complete your assessment, we can also arrange for you to complete this process sooner.
After registering onto our online learning system, you will gain access to your student account immediately. This account will have all of the course material which you can begin working through straight away. While you are completing the material, you will have the support of a personal tutor that will answer any questions you may have.
After you have completed the online content, you can book onto your two training days. These training days will re-cap on all of the theory you have learnt while studying on-line and provide you with an opportunity to put your practical skills into action. Your tutor will also give you valuable feedback to prepare you for your assessment. The majority of our students complete the online content within 4 – 8 weeks.

You will be required to attend 1 assessment day to complete this course and gain your Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification. On your assessment day, you will sit two multiple choice theory exams and then you will take your practical assessment. You will need to submit a portfolio of evidence to support your practical assessment. Your tutor will help you prepare this on your training days.
Assessment days are scheduled regularly throughout the year and you can select an assessment date that suits your schedule. You will only be assessed when you feel ready and if you feel like you require extra support our tutors will be happy to work with you.
We have a success rate of over 92% and will provide you with all of the support you need both on and off of the course to ensure we provide you with the skills and knowledge you will need to complete the course and have a successful career in the industry.
After successfully completing this course you will be able to become a registered Level 2 Fitness Instructor with REPs. You will also have two options.
You can begin working within the industry as a Fitness Instructor. You will find employment opportunities in major health club chains, large hotels and local leisure centres. A full time fitness instructor can expect to earn between £15,000 - £18,000 per year and enjoy a great working lifestyle.
You can progress onto the Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training course.
The aim of this qualification is to recognise the skills, knowledge and competence required for an individual to work unsupervised as a personal trainer. This includes being able to offer one-to-one training, baseline assessment, nutritional advice and progressive programming which is specific to the individual needs of a client.
We offer this qualification through our industry leading 6 week intensive course and also through our online learning system.
After successfully gaining the Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training you may set up your own business or work within a health club as an in-house trainer. You may decide to do a mixture of the two or even set up your own training studio. Personal Trainers earn in excess of £30,000 per year with some trainers charging over £100 per hour for their services.
After completing this course you will also be able to move into more specialised areas of training including Pre and Post Natal and Exercise Referral.
As a Level 2 Fitness Instructor you will be required to earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points to stay registered as a Level 2 Instructor with REPs. You will be able to complete any of our CPD workshops, attend any of our CPD seminars or view any of our CPD webinars to earn your points.
